Dining rooms are judged by how they work when full. A table that seats eight on paper can be unusable if nobody can get past a pulled-out chair.
Apex is where Capital Discount Furniture began and where the owners live, which gives the store unusually direct familiarity with local homes. Apex has grown quickly, and its mix of established downtown-area homes and newer subdivisions means two houses a mile apart can present very different delivery paths.
Family owned and operated from 3921 S Miami Blvd, Durham, NC 27703, we cover Apex from a single 50,000-square-foot showroom rather than a chain of locations. Apex is southwest of the showroom, a drive that usually combines I-40 with US-64 or NC-55. Below is the practical picture, including where our service has limits.
What to Settle Before You Choose
A few decisions about the room should come before comparing dining pieces. They determine fit, which is a different question from preference.
· how much clearance sits behind each pulled-out chair
· whether the table shape suits the room's proportions
· how often the room seats its maximum
· whether a leaf makes a smaller table more practical
The owners live in Apex, so questions about how a piece works in a local floor plan often get a first-hand answer.
What the Showroom Adds
Our dining room selection covers seating capacity, chair clearance, and how the room functions when occupied. In the showroom you can compare these directly:
· dining room sets
· dining tables in several shapes and sizes
· dining chairs, benches, and stools
· buffets, servers, and sideboards
· hutches, cabinets, and wine storage

What Happens After You Buy
· Because both distance and load affect it, the delivery fee is quoted against your specific order.
· We schedule a specific delivery day with an approximate three-hour window, and that window can widen for out-of-town stops.
· With White Glove Delivery the crew brings items indoors and into the room, assembles them, and removes the packaging.
· Rescheduling requires 24-hour notice; without it the original delivery fee remains due.
· Local delivery is handled by our own crew and trucks, typically six days a week.
· Orders need to be paid in full before we can put a delivery or pickup on the calendar.
Two constraints are worth flagging up front. Tight turns or narrow doors can mean the piece is left in the closest suitable room for you to place. The crew does not remove or relocate your existing furniture, so arrange that separately beforehand.
Open up hallways, stairways, and doorways beforehand, and let us know early about outside access problems. Secure children and pets while the crew is working, and check the order for accuracy before they leave.
Book a pickup appointment; that is how the team makes sure everything is ready to go. Apex customers choosing pickup should plan the return on US-64 or NC-55 with the load secured. Confirm your vehicle's dimensions, bring moving supplies, and expect to handle the loading, which is not something the team does.
If your timeline moves, we hold merchandise up to 60 days from purchase at no charge; past that, without an arrangement, items can be forfeited and donated to Restore.

Timing, Financing, and Warranty
On timing: many items are in stock and available for immediate or same-day delivery or pickup. Special orders vary with manufacturer availability, holidays, and custom work; the team can give a clearer estimate at or before point of sale.
On assembly: factory-direct items need minimal light assembly and arrive with instructions, hardware, and basic tools; delivery crews assemble and remove packaging.
On financing: we work with Snap, Synchrony, and Wells Fargo, with options for a range of credit types with monthly payments, subject to approval and each program's terms. Snap advertises approval decisions in seconds and lease-to-own amounts up to $5,000. We accept financing, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or cash.
On coverage: everything sold carries a manufacturer warranty, which varies by manufacturer, and an optional 5-year protection plan is available, priced by what is covered.
About the Store
Jenny, Scott, and their kids live in Apex, which is also where Capital Discount Furniture began. They built the business from the ground up, and they stay active in the community and with Hope Community Church, looking for ways to give back.
What that means for a Apex buyer is pricing set in-house rather than by a corporate office, sold factory direct and backed by a best price guarantee. The store has earned more than 1,300 five-star Google reviews along with WRAL Voters' Choice Award, Cary Living's Diamond Award, Indy Week's Best of the Triangle, and Cary Magazine's Maggy Award.
Brands on the floor include Kincaid, Rowe, LMCO, Liberty Furniture, Classic Home, Hooker Furniture, Helix, and Fusion Furniture, among others. We also offer Renew Staging & Design, an in-house staging and design service.
We are open Monday-Friday 11am-7pm, Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 12pm-5pm. Before making the trip from Apex, call (919) 600-1994 to check that the piece you want is out on the floor. Se Habla Espanol.

Questions Worth Answering
Does the store have any particular connection to Apex?
Yes. Jenny and Scott and their kids live in Apex, and it is where Capital Discount Furniture started before the Durham showroom. That means questions about how a piece fits a familiar local floor plan often get a direct answer rather than a generic one.
Can I mix chairs with a table from a different set?
Yes, provided the seat height and the table's apron clearance work together. Bring the table dimensions if the table is already yours, and the team can check the pairing on the floor.
How do I plan for occasional large gatherings?
Decide whether the room should handle the maximum daily or occasionally. A table with a leaf plus a few stackable or borrowed chairs usually beats sizing the whole room for a holiday that happens twice a year.
What does delivery cost?
The fee varies based on where it is going and what is being delivered, so we quote it against your Apex address and your actual order rather than posting a flat rate. Ask at point of sale and you will have the number before you commit.
What if the buffet I want is out of stock?
Ask about current stock, comparable alternatives, and estimated order timing. In-stock items can move immediately or same-day, while special orders depend on manufacturer scheduling.
